Once you have decided on a theme for the baby shower that you are organizing the next thing you need to start getting together are the baby shower decorations. Certainly when looking for the decorations for such an event why not try and incorporate into it those things that a mother to be and her new baby are going to need.

1. Diaper Cake - Similar in shape to a wedding cake but rather than being made from either a fruit or sponge cake this is made using white cloth diapers. Even if the mum to be prefers to use the throw away variety of diapers she will find that these come in useful as hand wipes.
First of all you take about half the diapers depending on the size of cake you want to make and roll them up, so that they look similar to a toilet roll and should stand around 1ft tall. Now you take the rest of the diapers and fold them up before you start to roll them up place them around the roll of diapers in the middle until they start to resemble what would be a wedding cake.
To keep each of the layers in place you need to pin them with some diaper pins at the end. Then to finish off the decoration of the cake you get hold of some very essential accessories and use these. Small items like soft toys, thermometers, small brush set etc., make ideal decorations to finish the cake off.
2. Baskets - Why not get hold of some beautiful wicker baskets which you decorate with a few beautiful ribbons and into this put a variety of different essential items that any expectant mum will need once their baby is born. You could put in a few small items such as baby wipes, baby oil and bath lotion, baby talc, bath and body lotion for the mum to be as well.
3. Baby Clothes Line - Why not decorate the chair that you want the guest of honor (the mum to be) to sit and then attach a clothes line to one side of it another to another part of the room. Then on to this line you can place clothes, booties, bibs, baby blankets etc. to it. Also why not suggest that those who have been invited to the baby shower bring along items that can be added to it. When placing the items on the line make sure that you use colorful baby type pegs to hold each item in place.
